Optimize your resources

Respond more rapidly to business requirements and reduce costs with efficient utilization of your IT resources. HP-UX Virtualization consolidates workloads, and gets the most out of your HP Integrity servers running HP-UX.

Our broad HP-UX virtualization portfolio offers technologies ranging from partitioning to virtual machines and containers. The unique mission critical qualities of each technology can be combined to meet all your workloads needs.

  • HP nPartitions (nPars) – ultimate electrical isolation of workloads, delivering high performance, scalability and OS isolation, provided on HP Integrity Superdome 2 and Integrity blade servers
  • HP-UX Virtual Partitions (vPars) & HP Integrity VM – workloads isolated into separate operating system instances within a server or an nPartition, providing dynamic resourcing, scalability, dedicated or shared resources, direct or shared I/O, and the option of online mobility
  • HP-UX Containers – workload isolation, within one operating system instance offering dynamic, shared resourcing and management that often reduces software licensing costs

Accelerating your business with new HP-UX innovations

HP continues to invest in the Integrity and HP-UX portfolio, focusing on the areas that matter most to you.

Man looking at computer

With advances in the October 2013 web release, you can:

Decrease I/O costs and increase security isolation utilizing new NPIV technology for the FlexFabric ports on HP Integrity i4 server blades. The newly enhanced HP-UX Fibre Channel over Ethernet driver for Emulex-based FlexFabric and CNA Host Bus Adapters can now consolidate what would previously have required multiple HBAs onto a single HBA composed of separate virtual channels, each one able to be a dedicated storage path to a virtual server.

The Matrix OE 7.3 release improves manageability and adds cloud capabilities, enabling you to:

  • Lower the cost of deploying a mission-critical private cloud with the new entry-level, 2 Socket License for CloudSystem Matrix with HP-UX
  • Simplify cloud server manageability with Matrix OE NPIV storage orchestration
  • Perform Integrity VM Online Migration across to any other Integrity VM server connected to the same SAN

The HP-UX March 2013 release allows you to:

  • Improve availability with vPars v6 dynamic memory migration, and double the access paths to storage – enabling dual-pathing
  • Run workloads faster with less resources by consolidating v6 vPars and VMs in the same server or hard partition (nPartition)
  • Reduce I/O costs with the greater efficiency of Emulex Fibre Channel I/O cards with NPIV, now supported with HP-UX vPars and Integrity VM v6.2
