Since most work is done on the server, client devices need fewer features, and require less storage and processing power. In fact, most computers can be replaced with "thin devices." They access a variety of personal productivity applications, have multiple applications open at a time and require access to the Internet. For these users, desktop virtualization is usually the best answer. Application components and personalization settings are streamed down to the user and execute on the user's device. And each time the user logs in, he finds his customized desktop environment just the way he left it.
