If these units were stacked on top of each other they would reach a height more than 4 times the height of Mt. Everest! HP Financial Services’ TRC globally performed disk storage wipes on more than 600,000 drives in FY10. The storage put back into circulation after these wipes would be enough to hold the entire contents of the Library of Congress’s collection of more than 29 million books on more than 530 miles of book shelves more than 4,800 times! In FY10, HP Financial Services Americas’ logistics team arranged more than 7,000 shipments for end of term and Asset recovery customers. Nearly 8 million miles were traveled during these returns, enough to circle the earth nearly 320 times! HP Financial Services has recycled 21 million lbs. of IT technology since 2001. Recycling one million desktop computers prevents the release of greenhouse gases equivalent to the annual emissions of 16,000 passenger cars. (EPA) The proof is in the numbers.
