FAQ | Tips and Hints | How to apply

To apply, either use our search tool and apply for specific position(s) or add your Candidate Profile to our database.

Finding a job

To search for a position within HP, click the Search Jobs link at the bottom of any page. From there, you have choices.

  • One option is to browse through all job openings in the job list near the bottom half of the page. You can decide how you want to view these. You can display jobs in order of posting date, location, schedule and job title. Or, you can define how many jobs you want displayed on the page, from a minimum of 5 to a maximum of 100.
  • Another option is to define basic search criteria such as job number, keywords, job field and location before searching.
  • The Advanced Search function offers additional search parameters such as posting date, schedule, shift, job type, travel and alternate work location.

Looking for a more streamlined and personal experience? Create your own profile on the Jobs@HP portal. This will enable our recruiters to access your profile and match it against future job openings.

Applying to HP

So you found a job that fits your goals. Now show us you’re up for the challenge! Here’s how to apply:
  • Click on the hyperlinked position title in the search results list to gain further information about the role. Then, once you’re viewing that individual job description page, simply click the “Apply” button.
  • If you haven’t already, you’ll need to create a personal profile and agree to the privacy agreement. Of course, your profile is protected by a user name and your chosen password. Remember this information, as you’ll need it each time you decide to apply for a job or submit/update your profile. Your account will remain active for 12 months from your last activity.
  • To ensure a smooth application process, have a copy of your resume/CV on hand so you can provide all the information requested. When you arrive at the first page of your profile application, you’ll be prompted to upload your resume/CV. We recommend this, since the system will extract basic details from that document and pre-load them to the form for you. It’s best to check and verify this information before you finally submit the information.
  • Lastly, you’ll be asked to input some basic details about yourself and answer some questions specifically related to the job you’re applying for.

Your profile

Once you have a profile in the HP system, searching and applying for a job becomes much easier. You can add jobs to your job cart, save draft submissions, track the progress of your applications or edit your profile and application section by section.

Each time you apply for a position, the application form will automatically incorporate existing information from your profile. To get the most out of your application, please review, edit if necessary and complete a profile update before you begin applying for jobs. Completing and updating your profile will help recruiters match your qualifications to any job opportunities we may have in the future. You can also choose to be notified of available openings that match your profile.

Returning candidate

Logging in as a “Returning User” has its advantages. Whenever it’s convenient, you can view or update your profile, apply for jobs and add jobs to your job cart. Or, if you go straight into applying for a new position, the individual job application form will automatically pre-populate your profile information. You can also validate or update these details and answer any questions related to the job you are applying for to complete the application. Your account will stay active for 12 months from the last time you accessed it.

Pre-screening questionnaire

The pre-screening questionnaire helps our recruiters match your skills and experience against your chosen job opportunity. Since you’re competing against other candidates, be sure to complete the questionnaire and tell us why you’re the best person for the job. This should take no more than five minutes.

We welcome applications in English or the language of the country where the job you are applying for is located. If you’d like to be considered for roles in more than one country, we suggest you submit your resume/CV in English.
