Westpac New Zealand Boosts Business Efficiency with HP’s Expanded Document Processing Services

AUCKLAND, New Zealand, 26 February 2013 — HP today announced that Westpac NZ has selected HP Enterprise Services to provide Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) services to improve customer service and productivity. Under the new five-year contract, HP will provide Document Processing Services, which enable Westpac NZ to manage its end-to-end print production environment.

Westpac NZ offers a full range of banking, insurance and wealth services to 1.3 million personal, business and agribusiness customers. To better serve the needs of its customers, Westpac NZ sought to improve its outbound customer communications.

Westpac NZ will use HP technology and best practice from HP Document Processing Services to deliver consistent, high-quality communications to their customers. HP will also modernise the presentation of the bank’s customer communications documents such as bank statements, utilising HP Exstream customer communication management (CCM) software. With these solutions Westpac NZ will have access to newer technologies to more effectively manage its paper storage and usage, as well as reduce its postage costs.

HP’s state of the art roll-fed T230 Colour Inkjet Web Press Digital Printers will provide Print and Mail Solutions, which cost-effectively print and mail huge volumes of business communications as needed. This includes creating forms, transforming print data, and printing and distributing paper documents such as statements and letters to bank customers. 

Westpac NZ will also utilise HP Archive Services for the long-term retention of archived data, which is key to the organisation’s data management strategy. This enables Westpac NZ to retain sensitive information for regulatory compliance, legal response, or corporate retention policies.

As a result of utilising these HP products and services, Westpac NZ will:

  • Leverage the flexibility of these services to adapt quickly when industry regulations or market demands change.
  • Benefit from HP’s dual site operations, enhancing business continuity.
  • Improve customer statement presentation and have greater flexibility to incorporate marketing campaigns or customer alerts directly on the statement. 
  • Benefit from a lower total cost of ownership for these services, allowing for greater investment in other business areas.
