HP Unveils APJ Converged Cloud Solutions
ASIA PACIFIC, July 17, 2012— HP today announced new HP Converged Cloud solutions specifically for organizations inAsia-Pacific and Japan (APJ) to facilitate cloud adoption andsimplify deployment to enhance business innovation and agility.Enterprises in APJ areembracing cloud computing to keep pace with changing businessdemands. According to recent research(1) conducted onbehalf of HP, the top drivers of cloud adoption are rapidapplication development (53 percent), enhanced agility to respondto market changes (29 percent) and reduced cost of operations (18percent). However, if not deployed correctly private cloud deliverymodels can create complexity, risk and added cost through vendorlock-in.
HP Converged Cloud is theindustry’s first hybrid delivery approach and solution portfoliobased on a common architecture that spans private, managed andpublic clouds as well as traditional IT. New HP ConvergedCloud offerings for APJ include HP CloudSystem Quick Start Kit andHP CloudSystem Solutions that enable chief information officers toquickly embrace these delivery models without adding complexity andrisk to their environments.
The new offerings are built on HP CloudSystem, a core element of the HP Converged Cloud portfoliothat provides a complete, integrated and open platform that enablesenterprises and service providers to build and manage servicesacross private, managed and public cloudenvironments.

The new HP CloudSystem Quick Start Kit provides asimple path to creating a tailored, pre-configured cloudinfrastructure that meets specific business needs. After deployingthe starter kit, clients can provision infrastructure andapplications for physical and virtual environments in just minutes.With built-in infrastructure life-cycle management, clients realizeincreased business agility and reduced total cost of ownership(TCO) by up to 56 percent(2).
Based onHP Converged InfrastructureandCloud Service Automation, HP CloudSystem –the foundation for the kit–offers clients a choiceof operating systems and hypervisors. The kit alsointegratesHP 3PAR F-Classstorage arrays to increase agility andefficiency. Additional hardware, hypervisorlicenses,HP CloudStart Solution Services,HP CloudSystem Enablement ServicesandHP Financial Servicescan be added to create a complete solution thatsuits each client’s needs.
HP CloudSystemSolutions reduce deployment time for applications in thecloud
According to an HP-commissioned study by IDGResearch(3), more than half (57 percent) of therespondents indicated they needed to reduce the time to provision anew application from months to weeks to yield significant businessbenefits. Twenty-one percent said they need to reduce newapplication delivery time from weeks to days.

The HP CloudSystem Quick Start Kit is available in Asia Pacific andJapan. Prices vary by country and configuration. Financing optionsare available through HP Financial Services (HPFS) for the HPCloudSystem Quick Start Kit. HPFS can also offer additional AssetRecovery Services to manage the retirement of outdated ITequipment.
