Our graduate schemes put you in control of your career. Join us in consulting, Project/Programme management, IT, Business or Sales and you’ll have the opportunity to explore your interests and build solid foundations for the future. Apply to the programme that’s best suited to your degree and your interests. From there, you’ll join the available graduate roles we have in each area. Please note that although many of our roles are Bracknell based, specific positions could take you to any one of our sites in the UK, so you’ll need to be prepared to relocate. The location of the role will be specified at interview stage.

Consulting

On our consulting graduate programme, we’ll use our resources and expertise to turn you into a trusted business, technical or security consultant. In these roles, you’ll be building strong relationships with our clients – advising them how they can use our technology to their advantage.

Business consultant

As a business consultant, you’ll deliver real benefits to our clients by working with them to transform their IT structure and processes. An expert in our offerings, you’ll get to know our customers inside out – pinpointing problem areas and suggesting products and services from our portfolio that could make a real difference to their business. Over 24 months, this programme is designed to give you the support you need, and the technical, professional and personal skills to kick start your career.

It all starts with a four-week on-boarding course that covers our business and how you fit into it, as well as the skills you’ll need to hit the ground running in your new role. From here, you’ll take your first steps in your HP career – straight away, you’ll be given a real role and placed on a live project. Initially, you’ll play a supporting role but as your experience and competency develops, so will your responsibilities. Through this on-the-job learning, and support from expert colleagues, plus ongoing training and mentoring, we aim to develop you into a confident, client-facing consultant who can lead a team, identify opportunities and deliver quality solutions.

Requirements
You’ll need a minimum 2:1 degree (or equivalent) in a related discipline, as well as relevant work experience. Proven leadership through school, college or university clubs would be a distinct advantage. As this is a customer-facing role, personal and communication skills are equally as important. We’re also looking for enthusiasm, a positive attitude and the ability to learn quickly.

Technical consultant

This programme runs for your first 12 months with us. It’s designed to give you the additional support you need, and the technical, professional and personal skills to kick start your career.

It all starts with a four-week on-boarding course that covers our business and how you fit into it, as well as the skills you’ll need to hit the ground running in your new role. From here, you’ll take your first steps in your HP career – and we’ll expect you to give your insight and opinion, and make a meaningful contribution straight away. On this scheme there are no rotations or fixed-term contracts, you’ll start a real role with real responsibilities from day one. That’s not to say you’ll be left to your own devices; throughout your career, you’ll be working with and learning from experts. And this is all supported by ongoing training and coaching that will help you set and achieve your goals, and develop into a valued member of HP.

Security consultant

Over two years, this programme will fully prepare you for a career as a security consultant. It’s designed to give you the additional support you need; the technical, professional and personal skills that will allow you to get ahead in your role and make a contribution to our business as quickly as possible.

It all starts with an on-boarding course that covers our business and how you fit into it as well as the skills you’ll need to hit the ground running in your new role. You’ll get to know our vendors and technologies, hone your customer-facing skills and understand the importance of Security for HP.

From here, you’ll take your first steps in your HP career. Working on live projects, you’ll shadow expert, senior members of your team, learning all about our customers, new security technologies and best practices in project management. Through this early responsibility, you’ll make a meaningful contribution straight away. All the while, you’ll be supported by ongoing training and coaching to help you set and achieve your goals – taking you from entry-level position to intermediate, expert and beyond.

Project analyst

On this graduate programme, you'll get full exposure to a project's lifecycle from inception to delivery. You’ll also learn about our client relationships and the businesses expectations and strategy. Overall, it’s designed to give you the support, plus the technical, professional and personal skills you need to kick start your career. At the end of the programme, you’ll know how and when to take risks and make decisions – confidently leading a team and acting as a role model for the rest of your group.

From here, you’ll take your first steps in your HP career. Through rotations in various teams, you’ll learn about the development lifecycle, release strategy, and implementation of development and configuration management. Working with expert project managers, you could be producing reports, developing communication, risk or quality plans, managing change requests or working with account leads on various business development activities. Whatever you're doing, we’ll expect you to give your insight and opinion, and make a real contribution to our organisation. Throughout, you’ll be supported by ongoing on-the-job, in-class and virtual training. You’ll also enjoy structured coaching and feedback from your line manager and mentor to help you set and achieve your goals.

Requirements
You’ll need a minimum 2:1 degree (or equivalent), strong IT skills coupled with an analytical, numerical and methodical mindset. An enthusiastic and driven team player, your confidence and initiative will be key. Proactive and positive, you’ll combine excellent communication skills with a good work ethic, and desire to learn. One of our roles in this area sits within our UK Defence and Security account, so to be selected for this position, you must be willing to undergo security vetting.

HP ITO Project management

As an ITO Project Management Graduate you will be embarking on a structured development programme for 24months. With the Project Management career path, expect to be involved in projects as you build the skills that will make you a future leader. At the same time, you'll draw on your creative side to look at the way HP work, factor in commercial pressures and suggest innovative solutions that change how we do things on the front line. You will have exposure to aspects of the project life cycle as they progress through the Graduate Programme, from inception to delivery. You will also learn about the business expectations and demonstrate awareness of the "Customer" and HP. Time will be spent in various teams to gain an understanding of the process expectations i.e. Development Life Cycle, Release Strategy, Implementation of Development and Configuration Management.

As an ADM Analyst you will get the opportunity to experience business, technical, project and service management roles utilising industry standard practices such as ITIL & PMI. Our business roles offer you the opportunity to work in service management and project management. Within service management you will be responsible for the implementation and management or our portfolio of services for our clients. Such roles within this area include service level management and change & release management. Project management roles include project tracking, risk & issue management, quality management and reporting functions.

HP ITO Technical

Our Technical Development Programme will provide you with the expertise to work for our ITO organization within HP, This area is all about infrastructure (e.g. servers, network), application infrastructure (e.g. SAP), and related services (e.g. Business Continuity). You will be part of a team that provides technical input, solutions, and recommendations to new business deals. You will also be engaged in and provide support for transition/transformation efforts, provide IT infrastructure and/or application infrastructure lifecycle technical support, including planning, project management, installation, on-going management/monitoring/troubleshooting, and de-installation, compliant with industry standards (e.g. Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL)). Managing the technical/service relationship between HP and the customer, and between HP and subcontractors/vendors. Global procurement

Our work covers anything we have to purchase in order to carry out our business internally or support our clients. Our account business managers are an integral part of the account management team. They’re the single point of accountability for an account – ensuring all the controls, processes and tools are in place for seamless support to our clients. Working with account and delivery executives, they oversee financial performance, contract compliance and overall client satisfaction. If you want to know what it takes to manage clients, and have the opportunity to make a global impact, then this two-year programme is for you.

It all begins with an on-boarding course where you’ll learn about our business and how you fit into it. As an ITO graduates will learn about the business expectations and demonstrate awareness of the "Customer" and HP. Time will be spent working with various teams to gain an understanding of the process expectations and will work closely with the Account and delivery executives to ensure client satisfaction, financial performance, contract compliance and efficient business support operations. You will learn about all aspects of the business; supply chain, finance, operations, governance etc. It is a demanding role but is an excellent way of rapidly building business acumen ranging from Commercial to finance and developing a knowledge base of the Defence Accounts organisation and a strong stakeholder network.

When we design and develop a technology solution for one of our clients, our presales consultants are the technical liaison between our internal project teams and the customer. Inside Sales Representative

This position would reside in one of several HP business organizations, including our Enterprise Services and HP Software organizations. As an Inside Sales Representative, you will join an industry-leading organization in technology sales and, together with the sales team; you will be at the forefront of shaping our future success. You will be directly engaged in building relationships with existing and new customers, promoting the benefits of our products and services, hunting for sales opportunities, and expanding our market share. You will have account responsibility, close sales deals on assigned products and services, and generate leads for other sales staff. You would be assisting with project management, pricing, and follow-up calls, as needed, based on basic understanding of business and technical matters. Straight away, you'll be working with people who are experts in their field. As a valued part of the team, we’ll expect you to give your insight and opinion, and make a real contribution to our business. Throughout this scheme, your training and development won’t stop. You’ll attend sessions designed to hone your soft skills, and you’ll have the support of your line manager, an assigned mentor and a graduate-level buddy. Through on going appraisals and feedback processes, you’ll plot and control your career – taking you from entry-level position to specialist, expert and beyond.

Requirements
You’ll need a minimum 2:1 degree (or equivalent) and ideally, some previous customer-facing experience. An excellent and confident communicator, you’re proactive, positive and enthusiastic attitude will be key. As will your strong work ethic and desire to learn.
