Joint HP and UNESCO IITE Center in ITMO

On 18th May the joint HP –UNESCO IITE Center was opened at National Research University of IT, Mechanics and Optics (NRU ITMO) in the scope of HP Institute of Technology (HPIT) program.

This is the first HPIT Center created in cooperation with UNESCO Institute for IT in Education. Alexander Khoroshilov (UNESCO IITE) participated to the opening event. Center has an impressive set of HP hardware: 20+ notebooks and TabletPC, 10 Desktops, blades, storage, wide set of HP Networking equipment. Supported by HP Catalyst grant (STEMpreneur consortia).

• HP CEE MD Herbert Rastbichler, HP Russia MD Alexander Mikoyan, Head of HP St.Pete office Yury Kornienko, HP Labs St.Petersburg Research Manager Natalia Vassilieva and HP CEE Manager of Education and Research Programs Igor Belousov participated to the event.
• Certiport CEE Manager James Varnham participated to the event and helped to start HP Institute ATA pilot in NRU ITMO.
• On 17th May NRU ITMO Team became an Absolute Champion of the ACM World Programming Contest 2012 Absolute Champion of the ACM World Programming Contest 2012 (the only University in the world to win 4 Absolute Championships, ahead of Stanford and Tsinghua with 3 titles).

After the opening we had set of master classes by Herbert Rastbichler, Alexander Mikoyan, Igor Belousov and Natalia Vassilieva for students and teachers of NRU ITMO.
