Who I am
I’m an HP Client Manager, and I’m responsible for a team of professionals who both fix and proactively prevent system failures for the government client mentioned above. My cross-departmental team has evolved this technically demanding relationship from two contracts six years ago to eight contracts today. We’re at the point now where the relationship is essential to their success and to ours—a prime example of good teamwork.
What I have learned
Do what you say you’ll do. Stay in touch with the client at all points, and move in their situation enough to really understand where they’re coming from. Talk about business expectations upfront, calmly and clearly, and make sure everyone in the room understands their roles. And, yes, always be reliable.
