Custom system settings

With Factory Express, you can be confident your HPE hardware is properly customized, integrated, tested and ready to install

System settings

Description:
HPE factory will configure system settings such as: Bios Settings, slot assignments, RAID Sets, cable connection designations, iLO Configuration, IP Addressing/Host naming, etc.

Ready-to-deploy upon arrival with additional configuration if required
Reduces cost of your in-house labor to prepare systems for deployment

Hardware configuration

Description:
HPE will customize servers/enclosures and will also provide factory integration and custom placement of hardware options (I/O and disk drive settings, etc. pror to shipment from the HPE factory.

Benefits:
Customized units delivered from factory to deployment sites
Quick and stable deployment in specific environments reducing deployment time and technical support cost.

Asset tagging and labeling

Description:
Standard Cable Labeling, Custom Cable Labeling, and Asset Tagging. HPE will ensure proper placement of asset tag, printing of labels for shipping carton. Monthly asset report, including system serial #, customer asset tag #, MaC address, UUID, manufacturing dateAsset report upon request from Client Services team.

Custom image loading-and more

Description:
HPE will load a custom image from depot at the factory prior to delivery.
Image Loading provides the customer with factory installation of their custom image. The custom image can be designed by HPE or provided by the customer in a format compatible within HPE’s manufacturing facilities (see special considerations). HPE’s factories will load a copy of the custom image onto the hard drive of the systems prior to delivery.
You can provide an image to HPE to load in the factory. HPE Engineers can create a custom image and load it in the HPE factory.

Complex Integration

Third-party product integration

Description:
HPE will install approved 3rd party hardware and software at the factory per Customer specifications.

Benefits:
Ready-to-run from the factory eliminating the intermediate software installation and shipping costs.
Reduced technical support cost

Disk array configuration

Description:
Racking of disk array, physical integration with other solution components, RAID level setting, implementation of a LUN configuration provided by customer, enablement and verification of HPE storage software.

Ready-to-deploy upon arrival with additional configuration if required.
Reduces cost of your in-house labor to prepare the storage for deployment.

Network configuration

Description:
Racking of switch, cabling and interconnection of networking hardware in the rack, configuration of standard network parameters, and load custom configuration.

Reduces cost of your in-house labor to prepare the solution for deployment.

Custom Rack integration and Cabling

Description:
HPE will install servers, storage and networking products into racks in the factory prior to shipment. The components can either be installed in the rack using HPE best practice placement rules or the customer can specify the locations of the components. HPE will also install all power and data cables, as well as labeling all cables.

Maximum flexibility to meet the needs of the customer data center environment

Software configuration

Description:
after the O.S. and additional SW has been installed HPE will configure any unique o.s. or other sw parameters such as Disk partitioning, file system creation, host names, IP addresses, etc.

Reduces cost of your in-house labor to prepare systems for deployment

Onsite startup and more

Description:
An HPE field delivery specialist will contact the Customer to coordinate onsite installation at a mutually agreed-upon time. In addition, HPE will also perform the following tasks, if applicable:

*Pre-installation planning: An HPE field specialist will work with the Customer to complete a site environmental requirement document that focuses on power, cooling, space requirements, and network connections.

*Physical installation: An HPE field delivery specialist will install, power-on, and connect the pre-integrated and configured solution to external peripherals and network components. Functional testing will be performed to help verify that there was no damage during shipping.

*Support activation: HPE will help activate the support agreement and will add new components to existing support agreements.

*Solution packaging: HPE will remove all packaging if desired.

Having an HPE field delivery specialist onsite to bring up sol will greatly decrease time to deploy your new solution into your environment.

 
Solution Services

Instead of diverting resources and staff away from your core business proprities, you can save time and money while customizing and deploying your new HPE solutions.

Project management

Description:
HPE will manage the order through the factory and coordinate the onsite delivery through proactively contacting the Customer to develop a mutually agreed-upon implementation schedule. HPE will then contact the Customer's designated technical contact to collect the technical specifications that will be used to configure the Customer's solution.

Benefits:
Customers will have a single point of contact from the time the order is placed until the solution is delivered to their site

Solution testing

Description:
Prior to shipping from the HPE factory, the solution is subjected to a set of functional and integrity checks to help verify that it is working properly and built according to the Customer's specifications. All system elements and cables will be labeled for quicker onsite installation. For applicable systems, HPE will power-on the system and execute the built-in self test, interrupt the auto-boot sequence, and run I/O map to verify functionality of memory, I/O cards and slots, and external peripheral devices.

HPE will also check user-set level, interfaces, devices, and device connectivity of configured file systems and configured networks, as well as verify that appropriate HPE software has been loaded and is recognized by the host.

Virtualization services

Description:
HPE will install and configure a virtual environment including the creation of virtual machines and loading of guest Operating Systems

Benefits:
Ready-to-deploy virtualized environment, which will reduce in house cost to develop virtualized solution.

Engineering consultation and support

Description:
An HPE consultant will work directly with the Customer to analyze the Customer's requirements and to recommend and develop the technical design specifications required to meet the Customer's objectives. The HPE consultant will recommend a solution configuration for performance and availability based on HPE best practices, knowledge, and experience.

Benefits:
The goal of this activity is to help deliver a solution that is “operation-ready.” The output of this work will be a technical integration package showing a system design, including partitioning, disk configuration, kernel customization, software load information, and Visio drawings of the hardware layout.
