Our “Stable and Consistent” component menu allows you to select a complete configuration that will live for the life of the platform.
In addition, our “Configuration Lifecycle Notification” service provides you the added assurance that, when and if changes do occur, you have time to react and adjust if necessary. Our team produces a report, specific for you and your configurations, that highlights the most minute changes, well in advance.
And NOW…along with HP Z Workstation platform lives, that often extends beyond 3 years, our OEM program offers a “Long Life Program,” for some of the most common HP Z Workstation configurations, providing you up to 5-years of availability.
The configuration choices that are available to you in our HP Z Workstation line up are second to none, but if there are specific components that you and your customers require, HP can work with you to expeditiously validate the components in our products and manage your unique configuration demands.

HP Z Workstation Long Life Program
Designed for OEM customers who value platform and component stability
HP recognizes that standard commercial workstation life is not always enough to meet specific customer needs. We appreciate the investment that many of our OEMs have to make to qualify and certify new workstation hardware, and that’s why we’re now offering a Long Life Program on selected HP Z Workstations, to endeavor to help these customers better optimize their resources and product portfolio.
Who will benefit from products in this program?
- OEMs, their channel partners, and customers who value longer product availability and stability.
- OEMs who may not need the latest technology, but are not willing to sacrifice “workstation class performance” for longer life.
How it works:
- At (or soon after) the commercial launch date of these platforms, a special base unit part number (AV number) will be activated. This special base unit will be coded as “Long Life.”
- The Long Life base unit part number can ONLY be configured with a pre-selected list of parts.
- If additional components (not pre-selected as long life) need to be included in the configuration, the standard AV can be used up to 6 months before the end of commercial life. At that point, the “long life” AV number will need to be used, with the allowed components.
- OEMs choosing to participate in this program must have the signed terms sheet back in our hands, at least 6 months prior to the end of the product’s commercial life.
- During the extension period, OEMs will be required to submit a 12 month rolling forecast, every 6 months to ensure proper material planning.
