Craig's biography
Craig Flower is senior vice president and chief information officer for HP, responsible for the global information technology (IT) strategy and all of the company’s IT assets. This includes architecture, applications, data management, technology, telecommunication networks, and support and operations companywide.
Flower most recently served as interim CIO before taking on the permanent role. He has led the drive to adopt globally consistent processes and applications since the HP-Compaq merger in May 2002, and has a track record of simultaneously delivering more value to the business while achieving significant cost reduction.
Flower has held a wide range of management positions within HP since 1984. Most recently, he was senior vice president for data management and IT services, which included support for sales and marketing, product development and engineering, global business intelligence and other functions. He served as the company’s transition leader for the IT integration of the EDS business into HP. Flower has also served as the global IT senior vice president for eBusiness, Customer and Sales Operations (ECO). Under his leadership, Flower’s team worked side-by-side with business units to help customers select HP solutions in more than 175 countries. Flower also led IT executive alignment responsibilities for HP’s Personal Systems Group and Marketing function.
Prior to the HP-Compaq merger, Flower was vice president, chief information officer of the Business Customer Organization. He also held senior IT positions in HP’s PC and Unix businesses, including two years as vice president, chief information officer of HP Computing Systems.
Craig Flower holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematical Sciences from Stanford University.
