HP Power Assistant for PCs
Whether it's for business travelers who need to extend their PC's battery life, or enterprises that want to reduce power costs and energy consumption, HP Power Assistant provides a detailed look at power management for notebook, desktop, and workstation users.1
Enhanced for 2011 and newer models, this easy-to-use tool also helps users estimate the costs of running their HP PCs and up to four HP connected monitors2—in dollars, kilowatt hours, and even carbon dioxide equivalency.
The same version of HP Power Assistant can now support select HP business notebook, desktop, and workstation PCs, making it easier than ever to deploy and manage the software at the enterprise level.3
Plus, information technology managers can capture HP Power Assistant data using HP Client Automation, HP Client Manager software, and, as of June 2012, LANDesk manageability solutions. It's a complete solution that allows users to generate reports, evaluate power consumption of the enterprise PC environment, identify ways to reduce total costs of ownership, and optimize PC energy use policies. Administrators can also set corporate client power policies and enforce on and off power modes to reduce overall power consumption and costs.

1 HP Power Assistant enhances management of the system energy requirements and enables users to take control of their power consumption for a reduced impact on the environment. Power calculations and cost calculations are estimates. Results will vary based on variables, which include information provided by the user, time PC is in different power states (on, standby, hibernate, off), time PC is on battery or AC, hardware configuration, variable electricity rates, and utilities provider. HP advises customers to use information reported by HP Power Assistant for reference only and to validate impact in their environment. Environmental calculations were based on U.S. EPA eGrid 2007 data found at www.epa.gov/egrid. Regional results will vary. Microsoft® Windows® required.
2Requires AMD discrete graphics configuration.
3Each PC is required to have its own copy of HP Power Assistant.
