HP employees are passionate about helping others and making a positive impact in the world. Whether it's providing disaster relief in places like Haiti and China, or tackling fundamental issues like struggling schools or insufficient nutrition, we offer our time, talent, and technology to solve some of society's toughest problems.
HP employees are born problem solvers. We encourage them to volunteer in roles that make the most of their skills and expertise, and for causes they are passionate about.
Each of our more than 330,000 employees can use four hours of company time each month for volunteer efforts. In 2012, HP employees worldwide volunteered more than 1.4 million hours in their communities. The time they spent giving back is valued at more than $80 million USD. HP employees also donated more than $13 million USD to nongovernmental organizations (NGOs), schools, and disaster relief efforts.
Aiding disaster victims: HP responded to victims of the earthquake in China, flooding in Pakistan, and the earthquake in Haiti. We helped on the ground and behind the scenes. Within days of Haiti's earthquake, HP Enterprise Services employees were working around the clock to connect networks critical for U.S. military assistance.
Giving our employees more to give We're inspired by our employees' generosity, and our cash and technology matching programs help take it even further. The HP Company Foundation matches employees' cash giving to qualified, community nonprofits dollar for dollar, up to $4 million a year.
