Passion, expertise, and a wealth of experience—the drive to make a difference runs deep among HP employees.
Our employees are an enthusiastic, hard-working group, with a wealth of skills to share and a passion to give back to their communities. To support their generosity, HP simply gives employees the time, tools, and technology to make a positive impact through pro bono work as well as skills-based and hands-on volunteering.
Because our employees have deep expertise in high-value fields such as technology, engineering, human resources, and manufacturing, we encourage them to focus those desperately needed talents on social challenges. Many take part in pro bono services, serve on nonprofit boards, or join company-sponsored volunteer programs, such as Junior Achievement, an international organization that inspires entrepreneurship and introduces business skills to students from grades 6 through 12.
To promote volunteering companywide, we offer all employees four hours of company time each month to devote to volunteer efforts. And our people need little encouragement—in 2010, this program launched with more than 4,500 HP employees leading the way by donating more than 100,000 hours of expertise to volunteer projects in local communities. HP's goal is to keep growing this program until we're making a meaningful impact for communities in all the countries where we do business.
