HP Labs

Reinventing the future through transformative technologies that will disrupt industries and economies around the world.

Emerging Compute

The lab researches the technologies, applications, and services that will drive a new era of immersive, seamless collaboration and persistent connectivity at home and at work. It aims to unlock human potential by looking at the ways ambient computing, sensors, natural language detection, audio/video analytics, and new information displays to deliver experiences that enhance peoples’ lives.

Inside the lab

We look into the future to explore a world where computing will be ambient, like the air around us, anticipating our needs and adapting to our behaviors. Today’s technologies are the building blocks to that future world. Learn more about the vision, mission and cutting-edge research at the Emerging Compute lab by director and HP Fellow Shreekant ‘Ticky’ Thakkar.

Print Adjacencies & 3D

The sciences applied to advanced printing technology are already making 3D printing less expensive, faster and open. Now, the same technologies are being used to innovate in areas not yet imagined, from medical diagnostics to next-generation manufacturing.

Inside the lab

This lab has been at the core of each of HP’s print and imaging technologies - inkjet, LaserJet, Indigo, Latex Inks/Large format, Piezo print and now 3D. We work on end-to-end system design, from material science to mechanical design to imaging systems. We create new microfluidic technologies that open markets beyond print, such as 3D additive manufacturing and lab on chip diagnostics. Learn more about the vision, mission and cutting edge research from Keith Moore, HP Fellow and Head of the Print Adjacencies & 3D Lab.
