HP Provides 24/7 Personalized Support and Valuable How-to Information for Consumers with HP SmartFriend

Support now includes any brand of PC or tablet

PALO ALTO, Calif. — HP is expanding its HP SmartFriend service to provide 1:1 expert support for any brand of PC or tablet in the home. 

Rather than calling a family member, friend or neighbor for help with product setup and troubleshooting, customers can access HP SmartFriend 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for support or troubleshooting with their PC or tablet.

HP SmartFriend experts can assist customers with computing questions and issues, from installing new software, removing viruses and setting up a home network, to fixing  a slow-running system.

Customers can rely on HP SmartFriend experts to teach them how to set up and use the most popular PC or tablet applications on the market today, as well as learn how to  schedule video conference calls with family and friends, pin recipes, share photos or move their CDs to an online playlist.

Most people own several devices made by multiple technology companies. With supporting operating systems including Microsoft Windows®, Chrome OS and OSX, and tablets running Android OS, Windows, and Apple iOS, customers can turn to HP SmartFriend services to troubleshoot whatever technology issues they have across various brands and devices. HP SmartFriend also includes remote access with enhanced security, so that experts can take control of the PC to solve issues in real time and customers don’t need to leave the comfort of their home.

Pricing and availability

HP SmartFriend is now available to customers in the United States and will be available in several major European countries later this year. This premium service is available in monthly, prepaid subscription-based plans that meet customers’ different budgets.

Customers can choose from plans such as the popular HP SmartFriend Complete Plan, which includes one PC or tablet device, or the HP SmartFriend Family Plan, which supports up to four devices. (2)
