HP Network Management Center provides a variety of free tools and utilities to help you report on, analyze, and troubleshoot various aspects of your network environment. These tools work well for all network sizes, with or without any other HP Software products. You can download any or all of the available tools to use in your environment absolutely free for as long as you wish. Each tool includes documentation detailing the system requirements, installation, and use, so you are up and running as quickly as possible. Also, please note that these tools are offered on a Windows platform only at this time. This could change in the future based on “your” valuable feedback.

HP Ping your Network
Ping each host in a given network and retrieve reachability and hostnames for network devices on any subnet. No need to depend on or build your own scripts. This tool provides its own UI.
HP User Registrations Viewer for Microsoft Lync
If you have Microsoft Lync implemented then this tool will definitely prove to be invaluable. This utility provides a detailed "dashboard" for admins permitting them to quickly inventory Lync users and at the same time providing data on client versions, physical server connections of users, registrar pool information and lots more. It also is great for checking on compliance of the client side software.
HP Network Port Scanner
Scan devices for open and used ports at a blazing rate with HP Network Port Scanner. With an easy-to-use UI, this tool helps you view the status of ports on scanned devices and enables you to export the data into a CSV file.
HP VM Reporter
Save time using HP VM Reporter to list the Datacenters, ESX Hosts, Virtual Machines, Virtual Switches, and Distributed Virtual Switches that are managed by a specified VMware vCenter Server. In addition to inventory information, HP VM Reporter displays the following results:
- Container relationships between the VMware objects
- Recent events associated with the VMware objects
- ESX Hosts only. The physical network connectivity for those hosts that support CDP
HP VM Reporter displays its results in an interactive local web page that enables you to scroll through results, sort results by column, and drill down within a table to view related information.
HP Network Device Configuration Inspector
Focus on your network device configurations, not remembering device credentials! HP Network Device Configuration Inspector displays the current configuration of a network device in a familiar local editor for easy searching, saving, and printing. HP Network Device Configuration Inspector also highlights the configuration differences between two network devices in the comparison tool of your choice, facilitating verification that various aspects of the configurations match across network devices. HP Network Device Configuration Inspector currently supports access to Cisco IOS devices over telnet. It uses the TFTP protocol to retrieve device configurations using pre-stored device credentials.
HP Network Flow Analytics
Measure your network traffic effortlessly with the HP Network Flow Analysis utility and extend your network monitoring capability beyond checking your network interfaces for utilization and errors. Without any complicated setups, quickly isolate hotspots like top talkers, top applications, and others. Get instant metrics via a set of "Treemaps" for nodes and applications by just exporting NetFlow packets from your network devices of interest to the NetFlow collector that the HP Network Flow Analysis utility provides. This small, flexible, and GUI-driven utility presents tons of capability. Answers to questions like “What apps are hogging my network?” are now at your fingertips.
