Without iPass, often times the experience of connecting to a free hotspot requires you to enter personal information, accept terms & conditions, or worst, you may only be able to connect for a limited time period or receive spam after your session because you have shared your email address. In contrast, hotspots in the iPass network don't require you to enter a credit card or personal information. And you can stay connected as long as they want. With iPass you bypass the complications of connecting to Wi-Fi.

Toggle this I'm at a hotspot and cannot connect. What do I do?

Poor Wi-Fi signal strength is the most common cause of connection failure. Walls, windows and other obstacles can reduce signal strength. Check your device signal strength indicator (number of bars) to see if you have a good signal and try moving if possible to improve your signal strength before attempting to connect.

Also, some non-iPass Wi-Fi hotspots share a name (SSID) with valid iPass hotspots. Insure you are at a valid iPass hotspot by making sure your location is in the hotspot finder.
