Telyco Delivers New, Improved Customer Experience in its Movistar Stores with HP
As part of a wider technology and business process renewal at itsstores, Telyco will implement HP ElitePad 900 tablets in eachMovistar store throughout 2014. As well as providing connectivityto Telyco’s private cloud and enabling video-conferencing viaMicrosoft Lync 2013, the new HP ElitePads will eliminate thephysical barrier of the sales counter, allowing sales staff todemonstrate products and services, respond rapidly to queries andinteract more easily with customers in all parts of the store.
A member of the Telefonica Group, Telyco provides the Goup’sdistribution services, landline telephony, mobile telephony,internet connection, PCs, peripherals, multimedia products andservices for consumers, professionals and SMBs. As of March 2014,Telyco operates 284 Movistar stores across Spain, staffed by 1,200point-of-sale professionals.

Combining the capabilities and connectivity of a PC with theversatility and mobility of a tablet, HP ElitePad 900s will givestaff in Telyco’s Movistar stores ready access to all thetechnology and services available as they move around the store.The HP ElitePad Expansion Jacket will enable them to use devicessuch as ID validation, electronic signatures or card readers.
To support this increased mobility, Telyco has upgraded its privatecloud architecture to approximately 300 virtual servers, providingstaff with the resources and technology they want, on-demand, wherethey want it. Once the HP ElitePads are in place, Telyco will adaptits business process to take full advantage of the technology inits daily relationship with customers.
