Hypo Alpe-Adria-Bank International AG Selects HP to Deliver Core Banking Services in Serbia, Montenegro and Bosnia/Herzegovina
As a result of HP’s industrialised approach to shared service delivery, HAA’s core banking and data warehouse services will increase in quality, stability and flexibility, while centralised hosting and maintenance services will create a cost-efficient operating model.
With 6,000 employees serving around 1.3 m customers, including numerous small and medium-sized enterprises, private customers and local authorities, HAA’s network of branches and offices in South East Europe (SEE) extends from Slovenia through Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Serbia and Montenegro.
“In this fast changing economic environment we were looking for a stable partner to deliver quality IT services in a flexible yet reliable manner to our local subsidiaries”, explains Rainer Sichert, Chief Operations and Market Officer, Hypo Alpe-Adria-Bank International AG. “This is an important milestone in the restructuring and re-privatization of our HAA banks in SEE. In the last four years we have created a state-of-the-art data center and a competency center for T24 that are unique in Central and SEE. With HP we found a service provider with an international reputation and capabilities whose local presence ideally positions them to work in close cooperation with client banks and to carry forward the competency that we have built. This will support the local banks in a profitable growth path in their respective markets.”
In order to simplify its IT operations, HAA will transfer responsibility for shared IT services to HP from Zajednicki Informacioni Sistem (ZIS) d.o.o., a Belgrade-based internal IT services subsidiary. This includes the implementation, integration and customization of Temenos T24 and other banking applications as well as ongoing maintenance and support, data center operations and client support services. In addition, HP’s technology leadership will allow constant access to and application of the latest industry developments and standards.
The acquired Temenos T24 core banking capabilities will form the kernel for HP’s regional T24 competency center, enabling HP to make these services available for all banks in the market. By cultivating regional specifics, HP will meet the expectations of new customers who are looking for implementation or consumption of T24 core banking services.
“This five-year agreement will ensure stable operations of HAA’s core IT applications,” says Josef Ehrenhöfer, vice president, HP Enterprise Services. “HP’s Belgrade-based Banking Center will provide IT services according to market standards and industry best practices: predictable and transparent in cost and quality. The contract is designed to offer maximum flexibility for HAA during and after the current divestiture process.”
