KONE Selects HP for Global IT Infrastructure Services

PALO ALTO, Calif. Feb. 28, 2006

HP today announced that it will provide KONE, one of the world's leading elevator and escalator companies, with IT infrastructure services under a seven-year agreement.

HP will consolidate and maintain KONE's servers and local area networks, operate help desks and harmonize desktop computing environments in KONE's global network, which spans 50 countries in Europe, Asia Pacific and the Americas.

"This win is another big step for HP as a global IT service provider," said Pablo Sanchez-Lozano, vice president and general manager, Managed Services - Europe, Middle East and Africa, HP. "We are pleased that KONE is entrusting its IT infrastructure to HP and our capabilities to deliver service excellence and greater IT operations efficiency."

KONE's most extensive IT operations are located in Belgium and Finland. According to the agreement, approximately 100 KONE global information services employees will move to HP. The transition is expected to be finalized by the end of June.

"Partnering with HP enables us to focus on our core activities and, through the economies of scale provided by a globally operating partner, improve our productivity," said Juho Malmberg, executive vice president, Development and Information Services, KONE.
