HP Nominates Former Nokia Executive Sari Baldauf to Board of Directors

PALO ALTO, Calif., Jan. 23, 2006

HP today announced that Sari M. Baldauf, a former senior executive at Nokia Corp., has been nominated to serve on the company's board of directors.

Baldauf, 50, spent 22 years at Nokia, including six and a half years as executive vice president and general manager of its networking business, prior to leaving the company in early 2005.

She will be included in the slate of directors to be voted on at HP's annual stockholders meeting on March 15 in Los Angeles and would be the 11th member of the company's board and its ninth outside director.

"We are very fortunate that Sari has agreed to serve on HP's board," said Patricia Dunn, HP chairman. "We will benefit from her experience running a large, multinational business, her deep knowledge of the communications industry and her strong, firsthand experience in overseas markets."

If elected, she would be the second new member of HP's board in less than six months, following John Hammergren, chairman and chief executive of McKesson Corp., who joined last November.

Baldauf, a native of Finland, has worked throughout Europe and Asia and has served in positions in the Middle East and the United States. She is a graduate of the Helsinki School of Economics and Business Administration.
