HP Helps Enterprises Enter New Era of Efficient, Effective and Integrated Document Workflows

Expanded alliance with Canon Inc. and new content management solutions help enterprises cut costs and increase productivity

HP today announced severalnew imaging and printing offerings, the expansion of its25-year relationship with Canon Inc., and new channel programs tohelp businesses streamline and integrate paper-intensive processeswith digital workflows.

HP’s broad portfolio ofproducts, services and solutions for enterprises, combined with itsIT expertise, is designed to transform business processes and drivedown costs by optimizing a company’s imaging and printinginfrastructure, effectively managing the total imaging and printingenvironment, and improving and streamlining document workflows.

“HP is helping customersstrategically evaluate the role imaging and printing plays in theIT conversation, signaling a new approach to managing printablecontent,” said VyomeshJoshi, executive vice president, Imaging and Printing Group,HP. “As enterprise customers embark on the transformation frompaper-based to digital processes, it is imperative they engage witha company like HP that knows how to bridge imaging and printingwith IT expertise.”

The announcementsinclude:

  • HP and Canon have expanded their alliance to give HP ManagedPrint Services (MPS) customers access to the industry’s broadestportfolio of single and multifunction devices.
  • New channel-led programs, hardware and solutions enable HP’sreseller partners to become even more competitive in the imagingand printing market.
  • A new Managed Enterprise Solutions global business unit withinthe Imaging and Printing Group at HP is committed to building andgrowing MPS and helping customers drive down costs and improveproductivity.
  • Expanded MPS offerings include extending the recentlyannounced HP Printing Payback Guarantee to the Europe, theMiddle East, Africa region, as well as Mexico, Brazil andCanada.
  • HP’s largest ever rollout of workflow solutions includes newprinting products designed to improve efficiencies and acceleratebusiness results.

“HP Managed Print Servicesis a valuable tool as it enabled us to allocate printing budget foreach department accurately; something that we were unable to dobefore,” said Dannarjaya Sri., Business Systems Head, PT UnileverIndonesia Tbk. “We decreased the number of printers that we own by60 percent from the original 550 units, dropped paper consumptionby 50 percent and saved 30 percent of printing cost in total.”

HP and Canonalliance delivers end-to-end portfolio to meet printingneeds

Capitalizing on a highlysuccessful 25-year relationship, HP and Canon’s expanded alliance combines the enterprise leadership from bothcompanies to maximize benefits for HP MPS customers.

Enterprises now have accessto the most complete offering in the industry based on Canon’s widerange of multifunction office systems and HP LaserJet andmultifunction printers, HP Web Jetadmin device manageabilitysolutions, IT integration and workflow capabilities from HP.

HP enables channelpartners to compete more effectively in imaging and printingmarket

With several new channel program enhancements, HP is enabling its imaging andprinting reseller partners to provide customers with a portfolio ofofferings that help them optimize their infrastructures, managetheir printing environments and improve workflows at a lower cost.These enhancements include:

  • A line of hardware, supplies and services products priced andstructured specifically for contractual sales.
  • Certified solutions that include partner training, productsourcing and technical support for select independent softwarevendor solutions from the HP Solutions Business PartnerProgram.
  • Greater investment in tools and programs that enable resellerpartners to offer MPS to customers:
    • In the United States, HP has established new relationships withindustry leaders who offer managed print infrastructure andservices through resellers.
    • In Europe, HP is creating an integrated platform and brokeringa network of service partners that will enable resellers to sellcontractual print offerings as well as higher valued services notpreviously available to small and midsize customers.
  • Through the HP Eco Solutions program, HP delivers tools for channelpartners to collaborate with customers to help them reduce theirenvironmental impact and save money. The tools include software,hardware, services and expertise, such as the Green IT Action Plan,Change Management kits, the HP Carbon Footprint Calculator and HPWeb Jetadmin Eco Solutions Reports.

HP establishes newglobal business unit

To further the growth anddevelopment of HP MPS, the company announced a new dedicated globalbusiness unit, Managed Enterprise Solutions (MES). Led by HP SeniorVice President Bruce Dahlgren, the organization is structured tostreamline HP’s approach to the market and ensure direct customersreceive the most comprehensive suite of customizable services,software and solutions integrated with HP’s complete portfolio ofintelligent devices – including products from Canon.

The MES leadership teamboasts more than 180 years of combined industry experience in theareas of public sector, healthcare, finance, manufacturing andothers, and will serve as industry experts customers can rely on tocontinue to drive down costs and improve productivity.

Optimize infrastructure to reduce costs

Celebrating the 25thanniversary of the HP LaserJet brand, HP is announcing newsub-branding to help companies select hardware devices best suitedfor their business needs. Small and midsized businesses can choosefrom a comprehensive line of HP LaserJet Professional printers thatprovide professional and cost-effective results. Largerorganizations can select from the HP LaserJet Enterprise portfoliofor stellar manageability, expandability and features thataccelerate business results.

Building on the success ofthe HP LaserJet product line, HP introduced new printers andsupplies to enterprises and small and midsize businessesincluding:

  • HP Color LaserJet Enterprise CP4520 Printer series, includingthe CP4525, designed for the performance-oriented customer whowants to share a robust color printer across large workgroups. Itincludes high-capacity paper handling, advanced security featuresand ENERGY STAR® compliance.
  • HP Color LaserJet Enterprise CP4020 Printer series, includingthe CP4025, ideal for IT-managed workgroups that need anetwork-ready laser printer to produce eye-catching, color businesscommunications and marketing collateral, at an affordable cost andwith ENERGY STAR compliance.
  • HP Jetdirect ew2500 Wireless Print Server, which enablescompanies to share printers over a wireless network. Withoutcompromising security or efficiency, it supports Fast Ethernetwired networking with Wi-Fi certification and 802.11b/g wirelesscapability.
  • The HP LaserJet CC364XD Black Dual Pack Print Cartridges forthe HP LaserJet P4015 and P4510 Printer series help reduce costsfor business that print in high volumes.

Manage environments to increase productivity

Through a strategicapproach, HP helps customers identify opportunities to increaseprofitability and business results. Global technology company 3M renewed a five-year MPS contract with HP after experiencingextensive environmental benefits, increased productivity andsignificant cost reductions.

“HP has added significantvalue by reducing our cost and environmental impact over the lastfive years,” said Ernie Park, chief information officer, 3M. “Afterreviewing competitive bids, we have determined that HP has the bestvalue in the marketplace and we are pleased to continue our worktogether.”

HP’s recently announced Printing Payback Guarantee for qualified new MPS customers inthe United States is now available in Europe and Canada, withexpected availability in Mexico and Brazil later this year,providing more companies with a risk-free way to save.

New manageability offeringsfor enterprise printing environments, available to customersthrough an MPS contract, include:

  • The reliable lineup of HP Designjet large-formatprinters can now be offered to enterprises engaged in MPS throughbase-plus-click contracts.
  • HP Imaging and Printing Security Center provides expertise,software and tools to help, manage the entire imaging and printingsecurity life cycle through a flexible, policy-based managementapproach to easily create security policies and monitor printdevice compliance.
  • HP Retail Marketing Automation On Demand is a collateralmanagement solution designed for retail store-front operations, orany enterprises engaged in HP MPS, that are looking to streamlinemarketing operations and increase signage efficiency, marketingcollateral production and customer reach.
  • Since announcing HP’s IT-sponsored telecommuter bundles lastspring, HP is now offering HP Web Jetadmin management capabilities for IT to accuratelytrack, manage and report telecommuter printing.
