HP Unveils New Designs Across PC Portfolio

New HP Mini from world-renowned designer Tord Boontje features industry’s first 3-D PC surface technology

HP today unveiled new PCdesigns that reflect its design philosophy of balancing materialselection, product usability and sensory input to deliver asuperior PC experience.

Among the new productsannounced:

  • The HP Mini 110 by Studio Tord Boontje, the first companion PC fromthe critically acclaimed Dutch designer, features the industry’sfirst three-dimensional PC surface technology.
  • The HPENVY series is a new line of hand-crafted premium notebooksthat is designed to delight even the most demanding consumers.
  • The HPPavilion dm3 entertainment notebook gives consumers the perfectbalance of mobility and performance in an affordable “thin andlight” notebookPC. Its meticulously clean design and iconic keyboard areenhanced by the brushed aluminum-magnesium alloy case. Select dm3configurations deliver up to 10 hours of batterylife.(1)
  • World-renowned designer VivienneTam and HP unveiled the design of her spring 2010 digitalclutch on the catwalk during New York’s Fashion Week at BryantPark on Sept. 12.
  • The HPProBook 5310m, the world’s thinnest full-performancenotebook(2) combines durable, black-anodized aluminumwith a magnesium frame, wrapped in soft-touch paint that offers itssophisticated design at an affordable price.

HP Mini 110 byStudio Tord Boontje

Starting at only 2.68pounds(3) and measuring just over an inch thin, the HP Mini 110 by Studio TordBoontje features a 10.1-inch, mercury-free LED display and a 92percent of full-size keyboard that makes it an ideal travelcompanion.

The HP Mini 110 featuresthe debut of HP Imprint 3-D, the industry’s first 3-D PC surfacetechnology. Multiple layers on the top cover are used to make theart appear to float on the surface while casting shadows onto lowerlayers. This new technology brings a depth to Boontje’s intricatepattern of plants and animals.

Built-in tools includingWindows® Live Writer desktop icon for blogging enable quick accessto popular social networking sites for staying in sync with friendsand family.(4)

The Mini 110 by Studio TordBoontje with Windows 7 Starter can be personalized with 15wallpapers, a screen saver and a Stardock MyColors desktop theme –all unique to this product and designed by Boontje to deliver anintegrated visual experience.

In keeping with HP’s andBoontje’s shared environmental philosophies, the packaging, QuickSetup Poster and User Guide are all printed with soy- orwater-based inks while the outer box and cushions are all made from100 percent recycled material. A custom microfiber protectivesleeve ships with the Mini. Additional accessories are availablefor purchase including a matching PVC-free wireless mouse and ahandbag made in part with natural materials.

The HP Mini 311 takesperformance to a higher level, delivering a richerInternet(4) and media experience than most netbooks withan 11.6-inch, high-definition(5) widescreen display,NVIDIA ION graphics and a 92-percent of full-size keyboard.

Whether consumers want toenjoy entertainment or simply get online, the Mini 311 is the idealcompanion PC for those who want the convenience of a mini, but theperformance of a notebook. The Mini 311 features award-winningNVIDIA ION graphics for smooth HD video playback.

The Mini 110 and Mini 311feature HP QuickSync software that automatically synchronizes filescreated or edited on the road with a home PC over a wirelessconnection when connected to the same network.(4)

HP ENVYseries

The thin, light HP ENVY 13boasts designs such as an aluminum-magnesium casing and the HPRadiance LED widescreen display with edge-to-edge glass forexceptional brightness – nearly twice the brightness of othernotebook displays its size – color gamut and viewing angle.

The HP ENVY 15 is HP’sfastest consumer notebook. It features an elegant laser-etchedpattern on its all-magnesium case that provides a visual indicatorof the attention to detail throughout the machine.

Both ENVY notebooks featureHP exclusives, including the HP Slim Fit Extended-Life Battery, apowerful, optional, ultra-thin battery that dramatically increasesbattery life(1) and snaps seamlessly into the bottomcasing; the HP Clickpad that integrates the buttons into the glasstouchpad for quick, fluid control; and HP QuickWeb, which allowsusers to rapidly access key multimedia and communicationapplications without the need to boot the Microsoft Windowsoperating system.

HP also announced severalother products, including the HP Pavilion MS200 consumer desktopPC, the HP MediaSmart Server EX 490/EX495 consumer home server, theHP Compaq Pro 6000 and HP Compaq Pro 6005 business desktop PCs, andvarious HP and Compaq widescreen LCD business displays.
