HP Launches Worldwide Microsoft .NET Solutions Partners Program

.NET certified partners speed implementation, management of HP web services solutions
PALO ALTO, Calif., Oct. 10, 2003

HP (NYSE:HPQ) today announced the rollout of its .NET Solutions Partner Program, which is designed to benefit enterprise customers by reducing costs and simplifying and accelerating the design, implementation and management of business solutions using Microsoft .NET software and HP's Web services expertise. The announcement coincides with Microsoft's selection of HP for its prestigious 2003 Global Services Partner of the Year Award, a testimony to the companies' strong relationship.

Building on the HP Adaptive Enterprise strategy to tighten the linkage between business and IT, these business solutions have been optimized across HP platforms to connect customers' information, people, systems and devices so customers can respond to change quickly and with agility. In addition, HP is enhancing customer choice by leveraging its PartnerONE and its Developer and Solution Partner programs to train and certify independent software vendors and solution providers on these integrated solutions. This network of qualified partners provides customers with easy access to the right technology and expertise to rapidly build and deploy solutions with .NET technology and HP capabilities and products.

"Web services technology is at the heart of fundamental changes taking place in how enterprises do business and is an important part of the HP Adaptive Enterprise strategy," said Lane Nonnenberg, vice president and general manager of global alliances, HP Services. "Our comprehensive set of software, services and solutions helps enterprise customers realize the promise of this technology - quick, easy, inexpensive access to manageable real-time data - today. Through this new program, HP is expanding the range of .NET solutions available to customers, simplifying their buying experience and enabling them to be as flexible as market conditions demand."

In support of the HP Adaptive Enterprise strategy, more than 26 partner companies have joined HP's .NET Solutions Partners Program. These partner companies will develop and implement collaboration, management, storage enhancement, security and mobility solutions based on Microsoft .NET technologies. They also will help accelerate the adoption and deployment of Web services as key enablers of the HP Adaptive Enterprise vision. HP plans to add additional qualified partners as customer needs require through joint go-to-market initiatives and with field and customer engagements.

Designated by Microsoft as a worldwide prime integrator for .NET technologies, HP's industry leadership in .NET combined with its expertise make it an ideal .NET partner for independent software vendors and solution providers alike.

HP's .NET partners around the world have access to a wide range of sales and marketing tools, ongoing education opportunities and more than 5,000 HP sales professionals and 3,000 .NET trained services professionals. Enterprise customers can benefit from improved time to market, reduced implementation costs and the peace of mind that comes with the assurance that all HP Microsoft .NET solution partners are Microsoft certified.

"Citrix has worked closely with HP for the last decade. During this time we have been impressed with the level of support that HP has offered us and the overall sophistication of its partner program," said David Jones, senior vice president of business development, Citrix. "With this new program, HP is providing us with even more information, sales and marketing support to further product growth and meet joint customers' needs. Citrix looks forward to reaping some of these associated benefits."

"HP's .NET Partner Program demonstrates the commitment and importance HP is placing on partnering with industry leaders to successfully implement Web services technologies using Microsoft's integrated platform and .NET," said Sanjay Parthasarathy, corporate vice president of the Platform Strategy and Partner Group, Microsoft. "This is good news for our mutual customers who will be able to implement .NET solutions faster and with less risk as a result of having a strong ecosystem of qualified partners who add value."
