HP Wins Award for Best Online Support

Association of Support Professionals recognizes HP as one of the "Ten Best Web Support Sites"
PALO ALTO, Calif., June 16, 2004

HP today announced it has been chosen as one of the "Ten Best Web Support Sites" by the Association of Support Professionals (ASP), an international membership organization for customer support managers and professionals. This prestigious award recognizes HP's commitment to excellence in online customer support and services.

"The ASP award recognizes the significant investment HP has made in e-support and is a tribute to the dedicated professionals in our global organization, where 24x7 someone around the world is working to provide the industry's best total customer experience," said Dan Socci, vice president, Customer Support Marketing, HP Services. "HP has the largest IT customer support organization in the world - spanning a wide range of platforms, applications and systems. We're there to help HP customers become an Adaptive Enterprise, in which business and IT are synchronized to capitalize on change."

HP's Business Support Center and IT Resource Center were selected by a panel of judges with expertise in Web support design and implementation, using a scoring system based on 25 separate performance criteria. HP excelled in many areas of evaluation, including: overall usability, design and navigation; knowledge base and search implementation; interactive features and personalization.

"The Web continues to grow as an important and popular medium for delivering customer support," said Jeffrey Tarter, executive director, ASP. "Web support is no longer just a way to save on the cost of answering the phone - it's now recognized as the gateway to a much richer choice of support-related services than customers can get from a live agent alone. HP exemplifies this shift, which is why they were selected as one of the Ten Best Web Support Sites."

The HP Business Support Center is part of a broad array of HP eSupport Services for business users. A one-stop technical support portal for business professionals, the center helps solve technical problems quickly, whether they're related to HP PCs, printers, storage or other desktop computing devices. If customers require additional help, they can contact an HP support engineer via online chat, e-mail or phone.

As part of HP eSupport Services, the HP IT Resource Center is a one-stop support site for information technology professionals, providing an online source of complementary services for HP products. The center places many tools at IT professionals' fingertips to allow them to log and track support requests, search technical databases, access software updates, participate in online forums, choose from more than 3,000 online training programs, and receive "live" assistance from an HP Services professional.
