HP, Siebel Systems and Microsoft Open .NET Solution Center in Sophia Antipolis, France

New Facility Enables Customers to Achieve Successful Enterprise Deployments of Siebel eBusiness Applications on HP ProLiant Servers
PALO ALTO, CALIF., JUNE 5, 2003

HP (NYSE:HPQ) today announced the opening of a new HP Solution Center in Sophia Antipolis, France. Jointly staffed and funded by HP, Siebel Systems and Microsoft, the center delivers expertise to help existing and potential HP customers build the solutions that harness the power of HP ProLiant servers running Siebel eBusiness Applications and Microsoft® .NET technologies.

At the center, HP, Microsoft and Siebel Systems will work with customers and prospects to help them understand how to deploy Siebel eBusiness Applications on a proven enterprise infrastructure of HP ProLiant servers and to realize the benefits offered by multi-application integration. With more than 1,800 joint customers, HP is a leading platform choice for Siebel customer relationship management (CRM) software deployments.

The new facility, which is part of the HP EMEA Technology Center in Sophia Antipolis, offers an invaluable resource to customers deploying and managing eBusiness solutions across their IT infrastructures. HP, Microsoft and Siebel systems integrators (SIs) also have access to the center for implementing customer solutions, and a number of major global SIs are already utilizing the services it offers.

"Organizations are under increasing pressure to respond more quickly to their changing business environments and therefore require reliable, flexible and secure IT infrastructures," said Rudi Schmickl, vice president, Enterprise Servers and Storage, HP EMEA. "The power of the combined solutions and the expertise that the HP Solution Center offers will enable companies to be more agile and responsive and will reduce the risks associated with enterprise application deployments."

For customers who plan to integrate Siebel applications with Web Services, Windows® Server 2003 and the Windows Server System, the new HP Solution Center provides an ideal backdrop to aid the development of an adaptive computing environment.

"With more than 3,000 HP Services professionals being certified on the Microsoft .NET platform, HP is the prime integrator for Microsoft .NET," said Dinesh Wadhawan, Siebel Alliance managing director, Microsoft. "Application integration is a critical requirement for business; the combination of Microsoft Web Services, the Microsoft Windows Server family, Siebel UAN and HP Services will reduce the cost of application integration, and enhance the agility and competitiveness of our mutual customers. By partnering with HP and Siebel, we can now provide businesses with the ability to act on vital information anytime, anywhere."

"Siebel eBusiness Applications are designed to leverage the power of the Microsoft .NET platform to connect information, people, systems and devices," said Fred Hessabi, vice president, Siebel EMEA. "By deploying our Universal Application Network with .NET on HP ProLiant servers, customers can experience rapid and flexible implementation of integrated business processes with scalable, reliable and secure execution."

In addition to guiding customers through the assessment, design and implementation of Siebel eBusiness Applications, the HP Solution Center will help customers work through the complete life cycle of a Siebel implementation, including management and integration.

The HP EMEA Technology Center conducts benchmarking, preparation of proof of concept, functionality tests, technology demonstrations, sizing and escalation handling.
