HP Announces Promotion, Mobile Solutions for Real Estate Professionals

Buyers of HP iPAQ Real Estate Bundles Can Get Day Pass for Free T-Mobile HotSpot Access at Participating Starbucks Stores
LAS VEGAS, March 4, 2003

HP (NYSE:HPQ) today launched a new promotion for real estate professionals at the 2003 RE/MAX International convention, where RE/MAX -- a global real estate system operating in 42 countries -- is celebrating its 30th anniversary.

From now until June 30, 2003, customers who purchase select models of the HP iPAQ Pocket PC real estate solution bundles are eligible to receive a day pass for free access to the T-Mobile® HotSpotSM high-speed wireless Internet service, available at more than 2,200 locations nationwide including participating Starbucks coffeehouses.

"The ability to access company information and the Internet while on the go is essential for busy real estate professionals. Our iPAQ Pocket PC provides these individuals with access to business-critical information when they are away from the office," said Robyn West, vice president of small and medium business, HP Personal Systems Group. "HP technology enables the mobile lifestyle, and industry-leading partnerships help us deliver practical productivity solutions for our mobile customers." HP is working closely with partners such as Pocket Real Estate™, Starbucks and T-Mobile to satisfy the growing demand for quality, reliable mobility solutions in the real estate industry.

T-Mobile HotSpot service, the largest carrier-owned WiFi network in the United States, offers high-speed wireless Internet access in more than 2,000 locations, including airports, airline clubs, Borders Books and more than 2,100 Starbucks coffeehouses.

Mobile HotSpot service was officially launched in Starbucks coffeehouses by HP, T-Mobile and Starbucks last August. Backed by T-1 connections, real estate professionals and other customers can check e-mail, surf the Web, watch streaming video or download multimedia presentations while enjoying their favorite coffee beverage in the comfort of participating Starbucks locations and other T-Mobile locations via a fast, reliable, standards-based wireless Internet connection. For real estate professionals, the T-Mobile HotSpot service also allows them to quickly gain access to information -- and credibility with clients -- in a real estate transaction.

HP iPAQ Pocket PC Solutions

Combined with Pocket Real Estate for Pocket PC software, the iPAQ h1910 and iPAQ h5450 can change the way real estate professionals conduct business. Whether they need to find a particular multiple listing service (MLS) listing or perform market analysis, the HP iPAQ Pocket PC delivers the ability to close more deals while away from the office. Both models can store thousands of MLS properties, and, with the built in WiFi capability of the iPAQ h5450, real estate professionals also can connect to the Internet wirelessly at broadband speeds using T-Mobile's wireless broadband network at thousands of T-Mobile HotSpot locations nationwide.

The HP iPAQ h5450 Pocket PC real estate solution, including an iPAQ h5450, an auto adapter for convenient charging, Pocket Real Estate software and a free day pass at T-Mobile HotSpot locations nationwide, is priced at a $50 discount, resulting in an estimated U.S. street price of $874.(1) The iPAQ h5450 helps enable real estate professionals to achieve their business goals in a competitive business where timing can make or break a sale. The iPAQ h5450 features a pen and touch interface, integrated WLAN (802.11b), Bluetooth, biometric fingerprint reader, Intel® 400-MHz processor with XScale technology, 64-MB SDRAM, 48-MB Flash ROM, transflective TFT color display, more than 65,000 colors and weighs 7.26 ounces.(2)

For real estate agents not requiring wireless access, the HP iPAQ h1910 Pocket PC real estate solution, including an iPAQ h1910, an auto adapter for convenient charging and Pocket Real Estate software, has an estimated U.S. street price of $525.(1) The iPAQ h1910 features a pen and touch interface, Intel PXA 250 200-MHz processor with XScale technology, 64-MB SDRAM, 16-MB NAND Flash transflective TFT color display, more than 65,000 colors and weighs 4.23 ounces.

The ability to print on the go completes the mobile experience. Pocket Real Estate has worked with HP to integrate HP's Mobile Printing for Pocket PCs into its software.
