HP to Show Networking Breadth at Networld+Interop Las Vegas 2003

PALO ALTO, Calif., April 28, 2003

As it has for more than a decade, HP (NYSE:HPQ) will share market expertise and display its wide array of networking solutions, including its latest Ethernet switches, wireless access points, software, storage and services, at NetWorld+Interop Las Vegas 2003, taking place this week at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

"With more than 25 years of networking experience, HP has played a key role in the development and enhancement of the sector," said John McHugh, vice president and general manager, HP ProCurve Networking Business. "We continue to shape the future of the industry by providing the infrastructure that customers depend on for a secure, reliable network."

HP's expertise will be showcased Tuesday at the tradeshow through two networking session panelists.

HP ProCurve Director of Strategy and Planning Brice Clark will be on a panel of networking experts who will address the question: Is there a next-generation LAN (local area network)? Clark will discuss how to create for an enterprise one complete network that results in a communications environment that is converged, secure and mobile.

HP ProCurve Chief Architect Paul Congdon will join a session providing a security update on wireless LANs. Effectively securing the edge of mobile networks represents one of the greatest barriers to deployment for network administrators. Congdon will present a forward-looking analysis of today's needs in mobile network access.

In addition, HP's key networking offerings will be displayed in booth 5485 at NetWorld+Interop. Planned booth demonstrations include:

  • HP ProCurve Ethernet switches and wireless access points;
  • HP OpenView network management software;
  • HP tape and tape automation enterprise backup solutions for data protection;
  • HP multi-vendor security services and solutions; and
  • HP and Mitel full-featured IP PBX and one of the industry's widest ranges of IP phones.
