HP mt245 Mobile Thin Client Makes Mobile Cloud Computing Easier for Commercial Customers

Palo Alto, Calif., May 4, 2015 – HP today announced the HP mt245 Mobile Thin Client for easy and flexible cloud computing on-the-go. The new mobile thin client delivers pro-class user features and critical management software at an affordable price.

Familiar Windows Embedded Standard 7E tools, programs, and resources are all fully integrated into the lightweight, sleek design with a 14-inch diagonal HD screen. Mobile data defense is built in, helping prevent exposure to unwarranted outlets, and the Windows with Write Filter defends against unauthorized updates and viruses.

“Our new HP mt245 expands and enhances our mobile cloud computing portfolio with user-convenience fitted for both the end user and the IT admin, “ said Jeff Groudan, worldwide director, Product Management, Thin Clients, HP. “Our innovative HP Thin Client management  and experience optimization software, HP Device Manager, HP Velocity and HP Easy Shell, is praised by customers around the globe.”

HP Device Manager makes it easy to deploy, manage, and maintain the thin client installed base on-site or remotely. The HP Velocity software improves wired and Wi-Fi network performance and the end user experience by optimizing network traffic for remote desktops and streaming of remote applications. HP Easy Shell, 1 the latest software addition, allows businesses to completely customize and simplify their cloud computing experience with Windows Embedded with an intuitive interface and targeted protection tools. HP mt245 comes preinstalled with HP Easy Shell v3.1 – featuring new system notifications and displays that simplify IT trouble-shooting and the user experience.

The HP mt245 is VDI-optimized and cloud-ready with Internet Explorer 11 to adapt easily into any ecosystem with today’s top ISV partners. The premium virtualization experience includes full enterprise receiver support, single sign-on support, multimedia redirection, and readily-available drivers and ports to print, scan and connect.
