HP Creates Worldwide Software Business Partner Program to Tap New Markets

HP, Partners to Deliver Solutions Based on HP Netaction and HP OpenView Software Offerings

Hewlett-Packard Company (NYSE:HWP) today unveiled a program through which HP and its software business partners will work together to deliver software solutions that expand the business opportunities of their mutual customers.

The HP Software Business Partner Program is designed specifically for resellers, system integrators, consultants, service providers, original equipment manufacturers, management service providers and independent software vendors to deliver software solutions built on and managed by HP Netaction and HP OpenView software products.

HP Netaction software products enable the development, integration and deployment of new Internet services. The HP OpenView portfolio enables the comprehensive management of those services for an optimal customer experience. Together, the HP Netaction and HP OpenView software suites seamlessly tie Internet deployment to enterprise management.

HP Software Business Partners have the opportunity to realize increased revenues and profitability through the benefits of this program. Benefits include:

  • Customized business models to address the needs of each type of software business partner, including: targeted discount structures, commercial utility pricing, compensation programs for non-reseller systems integrators and marketing development funds;
  • Access to a Web-based central repository of information;
  • Pre-sales and technical support, evaluation and demonstration software and professional services;
  • Training through the HP Software Solutions University, plus certification programs for HP OpenView and HP Netaction.

The HP Software Business Partner Program expands on the award-winning HP OpenView Authorized Partner Program to include HP Netaction and tap into new markets, channels and alliances. The program also facilitates relationships between the partners themselves, offering participants the possibility to expand business opportunities.

"Customers will be able to choose from a complete portfolio of products, services and management solutions from HP, delivered by the software business partner of their choice," said Peter van der Fluit, vice president and general manager, HP Software Sales Organization. "This program helps to create powerful and tailored customer solutions by combining core competencies from various sources. With program participants for both the HP OpenView and the HP Netaction software suites, we expect to make HP software a core foundation for every enterprise in the world, independent of their deployment platform."

The HP Software Business Partner Program offers four levels of participation: authorized, premier silver, premier gold and premier platinum. The level depends upon sales, consulting and implementation excellence.

Cap Gemini Ernst and Young (CGEY) is among the roster of partners who are excited that HP is expanding its Software Business Partner Program to encompass its entire software portfolio. "For a consultant and systems integrator like ourselves, it is very important that we team with key providers offering a broad spectrum of technologies," said Diana Billingham, senior vice president, technology consulting practice, CGEY. "HP's extensive software portfolio is of great assistance in constructing end-to-end solutions for our clients. The HP Software Business Partner Program offers enormous benefits by making HP's software technologies easily accessible to us."
