HP Introduces Spring Line of HP Pavilion Home and Notebook PCs

First 2001 HP Pavilion Home PCs Feature New Colors and Design; HP Pavilion Notebook PCs Combine Sleek Look with Wireless Technology

Hewlett-Packard Company (NYSE: HWP) today announced its spring line of HP Pavilion home and notebook PCs that includes the latest in design and customer support features as well as performance enhancements and innovative wireless technologies.

The spring 2001 home PC line includes the 7000-series chassis. The first models in this series, the HP Pavilion 7850 and HP Pavilion 7840, are small in price and chassis size, but big on performance and features, creating additional desktop options for first-time buyers.

Also introduced is the all-in-one HP Pavilion N5200 notebook PC, featuring the latest in mobile technology in a sleek, portable design, offering consumers top performance at competitive prices. HP's popular e-center is incorporated into HP Pavilion notebook PCs, giving users the convenience of accessing third-party business-productivity solutions from the desktop.

HP continues its leadership in providing reliable connectivity in both wired and wireless environments. HP's alliance with Wireless WebConnect! provides a wireless mobile data service that delivers high-speed wireless access to the Internet, e-mail and corporate networks from mobile consumers' notebooks and handheld PCs.

"Our latest home and notebook PCs reinforce HP's continued commitment to providing choice, customization and the latest technologies to meet the diverse needs of today's consumers," said Sam Szteinbaum, business manager, HP North American Consumer Computing Organization. "The HP Pavilion spring 2001 line is just part of our consumer offerings in 2001 and helps us maintain our position as one of today's leading consumer electronics manufacturers."

The spring 2001 line of HP Pavilion home PCs offers the latest in design and color with metallic silver and baja blue chassis, monitors and components as well as options for color replaceable parts, available in platinum, slate blue metallic, forest green metallic, purple mist metallic and burgundy metallic. The PCs are equipped with HP Instant Support technology, which features a variety of highly targeted self-service and assisted-service capabilities, allowing end-users to solve problems on their own or interact with a live support technician online.
