HP and Siebel Systems Expand Worldwide Alliance

Siebel Systems Names HP Global Strategic Partner; Siebel 7.5 Available on HP-UX

HP (NYSE:HPQ) and Siebel Systems, Inc., (Nasdaq:SEBL), a leading provider of multichannel eBusiness applications software, today announced that Siebel Systems has named HP a Global Strategic Partner in the Siebel Alliance Program -- the highest level of partnering available with Siebel Systems. Building upon a foundation of over 1,500 HP ProLiant server installations by Siebel customers worldwide, HP is a leading platform supplier for Siebel eBusiness Applications and a key provider of IT infrastructure services to help customers deploy and manage these applications.

HP and Siebel Systems can now offer customers some of the industry's most comprehensive and flexible cross-industry eBusiness solutions across a broad range of platforms -- from handhelds and portable computers to industry-standard servers and high-end HP-UX servers as well as printers and storage devices.

The companies additionally announced the availability of Siebel 7.5 on the HP-UX 11i platform. Siebel 7.5, the latest release of Siebel eBusiness Applications, provides industry-specific best practices and new functionality for multichannel sales, marketing, service, and partner and employee relationship management.

HP's current customer base of more than 1.7 million HP-UX installations worldwide can now take advantage of Siebel 7.5 on HP-UX 11i, which offers enterprises enhanced mission-critical availability, reliability, performance, scalability, manageability and security. HP-UX has recently been rated the No.1 UNIX® operating system in the industry by analyst group D.H. Brown Associates, Inc.(1)
