HP Wheels Out Year-long Tour Bringing Digital Adventure Directly to Consumers

Three-vehicle "Bringing It Home" Tour to Be Showcased at Nearly 600 Events in 300 Cities and Towns Across North America

Hewlett-Packard Company's (NYSE:HWP) "Bringing It Home" tour kicks-off today as a fleet of three custom-designed 18-wheel vehicles begin a year-long journey across North America with compelling and interactive experiences that demonstrate the impact digital technology products can have on people's lives.

Outfitted as single-family homes, the 53-foot-long "Bringing It Home" vehicles will be visible at nearly 600 cultural, educational, athletic, municipal, retail and consumer events in the United States and Canada through spring 2003. At each event, HP will encourage children, adults and families to explore, create and communicate together using an array of digital photography, computing and entertainment products in the vehicles' hands-on environments.

"We want to show people how our broad range of digital products can enhance their lives in ways that are fun, educational and informational," said Andy Tallian, vice president of marketing, HP Consumer Business Organization, North America. "The tour will let people experience firsthand how easy it is to use digital imaging for capturing, printing and sharing everyday moments. People will see for themselves what amazing results they can achieve."

The tour features easy-to-use HP products for the home office, kid's room, kitchen and living room that each showcase the depth and breadth of HP's digital imaging, entertainment and information solutions. Onboard innovations include digital cameras, printers and software that create fun photos, an entertainment center that will change the way visitors listen to music and kid-friendly interactive areas featuring age-appropriate activities and products.

During the tour, "Bringing It Home" vehicles will be accessible at dozens of local, regional and national weekend festivals, sporting events and civic celebrations. In addition, the trucks will be stationed in the parking lots of retail stores such as Best Buy, Circuit City, CompUSA, Fry's Electronics, MicroCenter, Office Depot and Wal-Mart. Visitors to the vehicles and those online also can enter the "Win With HP" sweepstakes, which will award prizes to 800 winners.

HP business partner Intel Corp. also will be a visible presence on the tour with its Pentium® 4 products fueling the many HP Pavilion PCs onboard the vehicles. Staffing and logistics for the tour are being managed by MarketSource Corp. The vehicles were constructed by U.S. Trailer Company.

Upcoming Schedule

During May, the "Bringing It Home" vehicles will be open to visitors in Addison, Texas (Taste of Addison), Indianapolis (Indy 500 Parade), Fernandia Beach, Fla. (Shrimp Festival), Birmingham, Ala. (City Stages), Montgomery, Ala. (Jubilee City Fest), Houston (Westheimer Street Festival) and Seattle (Northwest Folklife Festival).
