HP Offers Optimized Converged Infrastructure and Planning Services for SAP High-Performance Analytic Appliance

PALO ALTO, Calif. -- HP today announced optimized Converged Infrastructure and planning services for SAP® High-Performance Analytic Appliance (SAP HANA) to help clients increase the speed and availability of business information to make faster, better business decisions.

HP Converged Infrastructure can be customized for emerging in-memory, mission-critical workloads, like SAP HANA. HP combined the HP ProLiant DL980 G7 Server with HP PREMA Architecture, which is designed specifically for high-performance workloads and supports two terabytes of high-speed memory, massive input/output and up to 64 processor cores.

It also has advanced resiliency features that include memory mirroring, sparing, scrubbing for greater fault protection, as well as redundant data paths and advanced error containment.

With nearly half of SAP’s clients running HP systems, HP is uniquely positioned to help them change the way they access and use data as they modernize their SAP business intelligence infrastructure. HP will offer strategy and planning services to help clients in their feasibility assessments for introducing the SAP HANA 1.0 platform into their environments. The services provide detailed business and financial benefit analysis to support the decision-making process. Additionally, the services can define for clients a roadmap and blueprint to move to in-memory computing with SAP HANA 1.0.

“Organizations are challenged with extracting raw data from their systems and turning it into actionable information in a timely manner,” said Kristina Robinson, vice president and general manager, Business Intelligence Solutions, HP. “Running on HP Converged Infrastructure with HP services, SAP in-memory computing enables users to get faster access and business insight through data that was previously unavailable.”

HP and SAP are long-standing partners in jointly engineering solutions, including SAP NetWeaver Business Warehouse Accelerator, which improves the performance of queries. Collaborating to develop SAP HANA is the next step in HP and SAP’s joint commitment to delivering in-memory analytics to business users.

“The combination of SAP applications with HP infrastructure and services offers clients an optimized solution for managing their data,” said Sethu Meenakshisundaram, senior vice president, Product Management and Strategy of Business Analytics, SAP. ”We look forward to working with HP to help customers modernize their SAP business intelligence infrastructure.”
