HP Appoints Bill Toti to Lead Services Initiative for U.S. Department of Navy

PALO ALTO, Calif. -- HP Enterprise Services today announced it has named Bill Toti as vice president for U.S. Department of Navy Strategic Programs, HP.

He joins the senior leadership team for HP’s Department of Defense market segment and will report to Doug Davis, vice president, U.S. Public Sector Department of Defense Market Segment, HP.

Toti will serve as customer advocate and oversee HP’s Naval Network Environment 2016 initiatives, including the Next Generation Enterprise Network (NGEN).

“The importance of NGEN to the Navy is the basis of why we turned to a long-serving Navy officer who also has extensive industry experience,” said Davis. “Bill’s decades of expertise will help focus HP’s capabilities in response to the Navy’s needs.”

Toti joins HP from Raytheon, where he served as vice president of Mission Support Operations. Before joining Raytheon, Toti served in the U.S. Navy for 26 years. His major naval assignments included command of Fleet Antisubmarine Warfare Command in Norfolk, Va., commodore of Submarine Squadron 3, and commanding officer of the nuclear submarine USS Indianapolis.

HP has been working with the Navy since 2000, when the Navy began a transformation to secure net-centric operations that started with the Navy Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI). Today, NMCI is the world’s largest intranet, the most secure IT platform in the Department of Defense, and the U.S. government’s largest IT outsourcing contract.

HP Enterprise Services leads a team of more than 200 companies that operate NMCI and maintain the performance and security of this highly integrated IT environment for the Navy and Marine Corps.
