Mobility Designed for the Healthcare Professional

Designed with care

The tools of a healthcare professional’s trade are often highly specialized, and vital to their practice. This is as true for their mobile devices as it is for their stethoscope or pressure cuff. Being able to quickly tap into patient records, disease information, or the expert opinion of a colleague or specialist can save precious time. In a profession where minutes can count, fast, consistent access can make all the difference. In short, healthcare professionals need a mobile device that’s designed specifically for their unique needs, and that’s exactly why we created the ElitePad Healthcare Tablet.

In designing the ElitePad Healthcare Tablet, one of the first critical areas our team looked at was security. As more and more care providers move to electronic medical records (EMR), security has become a top priority. To meet this priority, our ElitePad comes with industry-leading features including a certified smart card reader, HP Client Security, HP BIOS Protection, Trusted Platform Module and full disk encryption. This slate of features not only protects your data, but that of your patients, while also granting you anytime, anywhere access to the information you need.

We also examined the day-to-day responsibilities of many healthcare professionals to identify ways we could help make their lives run more efficiently. That’s why, in addition to the already powerful processors and hardware inside every ElitePad, we’ve also included audio capture capabilities with built-in noise cancellation to support industry-leading voice recognition software. This allows you to take notes even when your hands are full. Additionally, a built-in barcode reader allows for quick, positive patient-to-medication matching. All of these features set you up to be more effective at the point of care and quickly address patient questions and issues, often before they even arise. These efficiencies work together to optimize clinical workflows, save time and money, and let you have more focused conversations with your patients.

In addition to these features, the ElitePad Healthcare Tablet was also designed for the rigors of the hospital environment. The tablet itself is handy, lightweight, and sturdy enough to pass the MIL STD drop testing1. It also comes with an antimicrobial coating2 to protect the product as you move from patient to patient, and is dust and water resistant to IP 543 and can be easily cleaned with a variety of sanitizing solutions4.

We will be demoing the HP ElitePad Healthcare Tablet and several other products at the HP booth at the HIMSS Conference April 12-16 this year in Chicago. If you have any questions or are interested in having a look at it yourself, be sure to drop by and say hello.
