Why Shane switched to Z by HP

What can you now do on a Z that you couldn't do before?
SG: I have a consistent and reliable color workflow across all devices now, which was really difficult to find before.

What is the next thing you want to learn or experiment with on your Z?
SG: I'm excited to start diving into real-time rendering and simulating – and seeing how far we can push the hardware.

What helps push your work further?
SG: I'm always motivated by new technologies and how to use them for artistic purposes.

What is your favorite Z feature?
SG: I like the tablet feature on the X2 for digital sculpting and texturing, as I get to use the full applications and not a watered-down tablet version.

Mixing styles and genres, while drawing equally from pop culture, street culture, fashion and music, Alex has created design, illustration and typography for a diverse range of clients. As a typographer, Alex focuses on language as a visual medium, finessing the written word until seeing and reading become one unified experience.

Why Alex switched to Z by HP:

What can you now do on a Z that you couldn't do before?
AT: I can render faster than ever. There’s no more designing in the dark. My creative flow has gotten faster and smoother.

What is the next thing you want to learn or experiment with on your Z?
AT: I'd like to start adding animation into my body of work and make my images move.

What helps push your work further?
AT: Discovering something new. The unknown is the most powerful goal.

What is your favorite Z feature?
AT: Its stability and speed.

Who is someone that inspires you and why?
AT: I'm inspired by so many people. To name a few: Felipe Pantone, for living and working at the speed of the future. Carlos Cruz Diez, for creating the most mesmerizing kinetic work. Jonathan Zawada, for being the most multi-talented artist. Milton Glasser, for being an example of creative freedom and wisdom.

By the age of fourteen, Rik had developed a serious appreciation for the beauty of abstraction. As he got familiar with Photoshop, Rik realized he’d found something that allowed him to truly express himself. Going freelance at eighteen was a risky choice for Rik, but he now works with many big brands around the world. After stints in NYC and Montreal, Rik returned to his native Netherlands, where he now lives and works.

Why Rik switched to Z by HP

What can you now do on a Z that you couldn't do before?
RO: Rendering is so much faster, so I’m able to knock out way more work in the same amount of time. It also makes it possible for me to dive into animation again.

What is the next thing you want to learn or experiment with on your Z?
RO: Continue doing more animation work. A frame took ages to render with GI on my old machine. It’s like six times faster now. Back in the days, I needed to render for one or two nights to complete something. Now I can do it in an hour or two. And I have the ability to test out new, intensive things that deal with 3D software way quicker.

What helps push your work further?
RO: I think I always try to improve myself as a human being and as an artist at the same time. Things are never perfect, but we can always aim to be. The more complete you are, the more freedom you have to express yourself as an artist.

What is your favorite Z feature?
RO: Its capability to render on a GPU. That changed my world actually. Rendering is so much faster now.

Who is someone that inspires you and why?
RO: Hard one. I respect people who keep doing their own thing instead of following the footsteps of others. So many people and artists are following trends now. It’s a big thing, especially in the online community. People strive for likes and love and forget about their own roots or passion. From a creative point of view there are always people I look up to, because they do stuff I wouldn’t even know how to do. There are tons of them out there.

Orlando is an artist and graphic designer who explores cultural iconography, pop culture and speculative narratives, working in both traditional and digital mediums. His vector art has been commissioned by Adobe. In 2017, he was the recipient of a Gold Clio Entertainment Award for his work, “Dia de los Muertos,” with Twentieth Century Fox and MGM studios.

Why Orlando switched to Z by HP

What can you now do on a Z that you couldn't do before?
OA: I can go mobile. And not just like on a laptop or tablet. I can go all-out on the run with my favorite creative apps, while being able to benefit from its detachable Bluetooth keyboard, which allows me to create from anywhere.

What is the next thing you want to learn or experiment with on your Z?
OA: I’d like to add more hours into the day, so I can keep playing with a multitude of projects and keep pushing myself with Z.

What helps push your work further?
OA: What helps push my art is culture. Culture helps me explore who I am – even beyond my heritage. The many diverse cultural inspirations out there truly help fuel my creative imagination.

What is your favorite Z feature?
OA: Being able to be out on the run and snap off that Bluetooth keyboard to set-up my ZBook X2 the way I prefer it. The Wacom stylus is practically an extension of my hand. It fluidly and accurately is able to keep up with my creativity.

Who is someone that inspires you and why?
OA: The bold artists throughout history. The ones who expressed their interpretation of the world by using the common tools available at the time, resulting in totally nonconformist, unique visual signatures – ones that went against the familiar grain. The innovators. The ones that chose the "path less followed.” The ones that shook, rattled and rolled the foundations of the standard or norm. Those heavy hitters are the folks I hold in the highest regard.

Jody is no stranger to adventure. As an award-winning photographer, she’s explored the wildest frontiers of our planet. Over the span of a decade, she twice sailed around the world on kiteboarding, sailing and surfing expeditions. She has traveled to over ninety countries in search of the unknown.

Why jody switched to z by hp:

What can you now do on a Z that you couldn't do before?
JM: I’m always trying to find new ways to improve my work flow. For a long time, I struggled with having the confidence in a computer that’s durable and versatile enough for me to take into the field. When I met with the HP team and they explained to me the rigorous testing they put their products through, I became really excited to test them out. I finally feel like I’ve found a computer that I can rely on, whether I’m way off the beaten path or in my home office.

What helps push your work further?
JM: Stepping off the beaten path in pursuit of documenting stories that inspire people to push the boundaries of their comfort zones and fight for positive change in the world. That’s what inspires me and keeps motivating me to do better work.

What is your favorite Z feature?
JM: My favorite feature or tool is the pen on the ZBook X2. Honestly, it feels a lot like when I used to take art classes in school. The pen is like a paintbrush that allows me to see and edit details like I never have before. Now, editing my images has become this interactive experience that inspires me to create and share with the world.

Who is someone that inspires you and why?
JM: There are so many people that inspire me. Anyone who has the courage to follow their passion or curiosity in life inspires me, but if I had to name just one, it would be my brother. He lives life on his own terms. A very simple, rewarding life. He doesn’t give in to societal pressures. He is the most interesting, confident, hardworking, giving, self-fulfilled person that I have ever met and it’s hard not to be incredibly inspired by that.
